Michelle Hicken RGN MSc(clinonc)
Qualified in 1991 and entered the world of colorectal /stoma care nursing in 1998 and her first colorectal CNS posting commenced in 2001 when she joined the colorectal nursing team at The QE in Birmingham. This was a joint role doing both stoma care and colorectal oncology nursing. In 2014 she joined UHCW as the lead colorectal oncology nurse before moving back to surgery in 2021 where she took up the role of lead colorectal/stoma CNS.
To date she has transformed this service and gone on to achieve a number of academic accolades and has presented nationally and internationally on a number of subjects relating to both colorectal cancer and stoma care.
