Stoma Care Specialist Nurse, Chelsea and Westminster Foundation Trust

Rachel has worked as an NHS nurse for the past 10 years, beginning her career as a staff nurse before progressing to Junior Sister on a colorectal surgery ward. Three years ago, she specialised in stoma care, where she enjoys supporting patients throughout their surgical journey and the complex problem-solving that is often required to optimise stoma outcomes.

This is Rachel’s first time presenting at a national conference. She has developed a particular interest in the assessment and management of peristomal ulceration following a service improvement project to redesign and implement an updated clinical pathway, and she is passionate about sharing this work to support best practice in stoma care.
