Dedicated Stoma Care Nurse at St Mark’s National Bowel Hospital, where she has been providing specialist care for the past five years. My nursing career spanning more than 15 years, I began the professional journey in 2010 as a surgical nurse, developing a strong foundation in perioperative and postoperative patient care. Driven by a passion for supporting patients through life-changing surgical experiences, she transitioned into stoma care, where I have developed expertise in helping individuals adapt to life with a stoma and achieve the best possible quality of life Over the past three years, I have focused on delivering holistic, evidence-based care to patients navigating complex colorectal surgeries. A champion of innovative pre-habilitation, she works in close collaboration with the colorectal surgical team to lead comprehensive distal feeding protocols, rehabilitating the defunctioned bowel prior to stoma reversal to significantly improve post-operative functional outcomes and mitigate LARS.
