Paula Allchorne
Urology Lead Nurse, Barts Health NHS Trust
Paula Allchorne is Urology Lead Nurse at Barts Health NHS Trust, the largest NHS Trust in the UK, and the newly appointed GIRFT Urology Nurse Lead for England. With over 29 years of nursing experience across all urological subspecialties, she is recognised nationally and internationally for her leadership, innovation, and service development. A qualified Psychosexual and Relationship Therapist, Paula also holds an Executive MBA in Healthcare. She served as President of the European Association of Urological Nursing (EAUN) until 2025, leading initiatives to advance and standardise urological nursing practice across Europe and globally. Paula has received 13 national awards, including Urology Nurse of the Year (2018) and the Gold Award for Outstanding Service to Nursing from Dame Ruth May DBE, Chief Nursing Officer for England. Most recently, she co-chaired the development of the UK Nephrostomy Framework, bringing together multidisciplinary experts to standardise nephrostomy care and improve patient outcomes across the NHS.
