With over 220,000 people in the UK living with a stoma, and numbers rising each year, standardised, evidence-based stoma care pathways are lacking. This leads to variations in services and unmet patient needs. ASCN UK is leading the ASCS initiative, with specialist stoma care nurses developing mandatory, evidence-based pathways that prioritise patient needs, support healthcare teams, and improve outcomes for people living with stomas.
