I have been nursing for 14 years, firstly in general surgery where i gained a wealth of knowledge of colorectal conditions and had a passion for stoma care, during this time i was given the opportunity to undertake a secondment, where my passion for stoma care grew. I have now been a stoma nurse for 8, having worked in the speciality at 2 large NHS trusts. I have also recently become a non medical prescriber.

I have a keen interest in parastomal hernias, working with and supporting patients within a specialist MDT clinic setting. I participate in gathering the patient reported outcomes in relation to their parastomal hernias using the MYMOP and it has been interesting to understand how each patient rates their symptoms and what is important to them.

This will be the first time I am presenting at conference.
