I’m Ben Rennison, Clinical Education Nurse Specialist for Salts Healthcare, working within the Salts Academy, and ASCN Area Representative for East Yorkshire and Bradford. With over nine years in stoma care and a background in surgical nursing, I’m passionate about delivering education that’s engaging, evidence-based, and accessible.

I studied nursing at the University of Manchester and began my career within the surgical division at Manchester NHS Trust, gaining experience in vascular, trauma, and infectious diseases. I later specialised in stoma care and spent seven years supporting patients at Bradford Teaching Hospitals, working closely with the colorectal team. During this time, I was employed by Salts Healthcare, before moving into my current role within the Salts Academy, where I now support the delivery and development of stoma care education across the UK.

I’m driven by a love of teaching and a belief that learning should be dynamic and inclusive—using creativity and technology to bring education to life. Outside of work, I recharge outdoors—walking, hiking, and spending time with my husband and our dog, Willow.
